I got out today for my first duck hunt of the season and had a blast! Normally I dont even start hunting ducks til mid December because I like the fair weather hunters to leave me alone, but Chaser got me out any ways and took his brother along for good measure.

It was his brother's first duck hunt and he bagged 4 spoonies, and Chaser another 3, and I limited out. Everything that came in today was a spoonie, but I lucked out and hit a greenwing teal early on.

Man duck hunting is fun!

Nice haul, I'm surprised people are doing as good as they are concidering its like mid september weather out there. How do you cook them? Any good recipes?

I seriously dont know how the heck to cook duck. Im good at shooting the buggers but pretty much ruin them every time I cook them.

Now I just make them into dog treats. But once the teal start coming in more, I plan on smoking them up in the smoker and serving them on crackers with cheese.

I wish I knew how to hunt geese. I dont know anyone that really hunts them so I try periodically to get them, but pretty much fail within a few minutes and the geese fly away
