Burbot?

by DallanC » Tue Dec 10, 2013 1:21 pm

Anyone here fish FG for burbot? I've never tried it but would like to this winter. I have a popup tent and heater so fishing at night is fine. I hear glow in the dark jigs are the rage tipped with some kind of meat. I dont know where to fish though at FG, places where you can drive close enough to pull a sled out onto the ice? I'd rather not drag a trailer with atvs / sleds out there, but would if its needed.

Just seeing if anyone has experience with this type of fishing.

I fish it each winter and always catch burbot. I go up stream from Lucerne on the Wyoming side. To be honest, I really don't intend to catch them but they are where the lakers are and hit the same bait. I'm usually on the bottom 90' with a white or glow in the dark jig tipped with sucker meat.

It isn't much of a walk pulling a sled, you wouldn't need a four wheeler or snowmobile. You are more than welcome to join me on a trip this winter if you want.
