Taking the wife there tomorrow(wed) will be fishing from shore (she is afraid of boats ) anyway thinking Solder Creek side by the damn.Any thoughts?

So the Berry from shore is rough this time of year. Not to say you cant be successful but until it starts to frost, you wont be as successful as in a boat. Boats can get out over colder water deep where the trout hang out.

As for SC side, it really depends which side of the lake you want to fish. The west side is shallower from shore so you have to cast a long ways out into it to get past weeds. Conversely, the east side is really steep, so casting out too far will mean you bait sinks way down deep.

So IMO, boat >>> east side > west side.

West side, popular spots (google earth) coords:

40° 8'48.68"N 111° 1'37.32"W
40° 8'17.46"N 111° 1'44.26"W
40° 8'18.77"N 111° 1'29.39"W (this gets deep fast as its a steep face!)

I've trolled past each of those spots with all 5 rods hooked up while people on shore sit and watch. Getting out from shore is a big deal but as you said, if you wife wont do boats you are kindof limited.

Almost got her in a pontoon boat,but we got there late so tried it from shore.We had a little luck,just need to get there earlier.Brought home 3 bows for dinner.Caught and released 3 cuts,1 went 20 inches(wife caught it on a worm and mello) Sorry no picts of the cuts,but there is a story behind that.I gave my wife 3 things to do.! 1,make some sandwiches,2,bring her jacket,3,bring the camera. 1,Well I had 2 nice bologna swiss cheese with jalapenos sandwiches.2, She was lucky my golf jacket was in the Jeep.3,no @@@@ camera Just goes to show you when you tell a women and she says she is listening they still get it wrong. (sorry K2 I couldnt help myself Here are a couple pict of the bows after we got home.(Dallan thanks for the cords. I will save them for next trip,which will be on the pontoon)

One of those set of coords is where you ended up so its all good. From a pontoon I'd go further up in that eastern channel, either that or go up the east side from the dam along the cliffs and jig worms or something flashy down around 30ft..
