The trigger looks much simpler on this than other homemade ones I've seen...so the line runs down the wire and the line pulling on the end of the wire is what trips the trigger? I can't quite see it.

I was going to make a couple last year but never got around to it. Hopefully I'll get around to making a couple this year. Can't wait for the ice fishing season to start.

Yea, I just bought the last set of Auger blades at Cabelas... I'm still running the original blades it came with, now 15 years old at least. Should be quite a difference drilling this time around

What kind of auger do you use? I just bought a nils 6" last year and love it. Hoping the blades will last me another year (or a few) without needing sharpened.

Nice, I didn't realize they made gas augers in 8" (never really looked). That seems like it would be a bit more manageable than a 10" or 12". I went with the hand auger because at the time I didn't have a snowmobile or atv. Now I do so I'll likely look into getting a gas auger over the next couple of years.
