Summer Fun Part I

Haven't made a fishing report in a long time. Headed to South Dakota for our annual trip to see Mom and help her. No fishing trip planned just fished the ole Stray Horse Creek that runs through her property. Had a whole lot of fun catching SD Pike...nothing huge most were maybe pushing 20" little hammer handles and all released. Fishing partner did loose one pushing 30" and would've been a keeper as Mom loves Pike. Lots of fun all the same every day we'd make a trek to the Creek and fish for a couple hours. Creek is like 100' under the pasture electric wire for cattle control. Had to dodge the cow patties and first few trips I didn't do a great job at that. Even had to get on the other side of the wire one time when about 30 cows decided to check come over for a visit. They hung around then something spooked them and it was a SD cattle stampede. So here are a few pics.

This was are 4th annual trip back to SD will be going back again next year.

Made just one trip to Willard this summer and we managed our most tablefare....yes... Walleye

We've been out fishing for our most favorite fish the rest of the summer. Some will say these fish are putting a hurt on the SMB and LMB populations...well I'm here to tell ya all the bass we've hooked into have been very nice and they didn't hit drop-shots or tubes or jigs these fish hit some huge lures.

Wowzers! Those are NICE! I've never even tried to catch Muskie, I really need to one of these days. Problem is too many hard to catch fish with too little time to learn to catch them
