Skyline 9/21 Trout and ducks

Spend the weekend up in the high country of the skyline drive. We went up for a fall camping trip as well as participate in the youth waterfowl hunt. I was surprised at how many people were up there, last year we had the lake to ourselves but this year we got the only available camp site next to the lake! Come morning, two other groups had big decoy spreads setup for ducks (amusing, this lake doesnt really have flyover ducks so the decoys are pretty stupid. Its alot of jump shooting and ambushing them).

All in all my boy shot 5 ducks.

BUT is the fishing forum, so I can report we also did a bit of fishing, winds were pretty stiff over the entire weekend but we did ok on trout. They had some size to them compared to earlier in the year. Overall, it was a fun trip. Weather started turning nasty as we were packing up to leave sunday: rain, snow and hail pelted us.

Last camping trip of the year for us usually, was a fun successful weekend.
