I’m 70 years young. I was born in Michigan and moved to Utah in 1977 courtesy of the US Air Force. I’m a Weber State College grad (1984) and I retired twice. I like to hunt, fish, shoot skeet, and travel with my bride of 51 years. I plan to go as hard as I can for as long as I can but have noticed some slowing down in that regard as of late. Is it duck season yet?

Welcome Bob, glad to have you!

You have any decent Duck recipes? I'm taking my boy out for the youth opener in a few weeks, I think its pretty guarenteed he'll get a bunch. I never really found a great Duck recipe... finding one is as elusive as getting a band I think :)

The most often heard complaint I hear about duck is “I don’t like the taste of duck.” So I generally tell folks to try grinding up the meat, cook it like you would regular hamburger without adding anything, and then use it in your favorite chili or taco meat recipe.

Wow there's a thought. Never occurred to me to grind it. If he gets a few I think we'll probably try it a few different ways. I havent seen the waterfowl proc yet to know if youth can shoot geese that day, there's always a few around in the area I will be taking him.

Just saying hi! HI!!!!!! New this morning. 8/24/2012 Hunting, hiking, and fishing. Anything outdoors. Hoping to pass along my love of the outdoors to my daughter. This will be her first year deer hunting. Success will not be measured in filling the tag, but the enjoyment of being able to hunt together. Hopefully we will be able to do this for many years to come. :howdy:
