Would anyone be interested in a index for this? I always take my detector with me fishing and camping, and would like to here some stories and get some hints, and share some areas. Any takers :?:

What are the features someone should look for in a good metal detector? Any brands that are better than others?

I have a Garrett 250 ace ,not very expensive, and good for what I do.They will run in price anywhere from 80.00 to in the thousands.Look for one that targets what you will be looking for, coins silver, etc. Most come ready to go and give you factory settings. You can tweek them to fit your desire. They make them for gold prospecting, underwater detecting, and most will tell you what the target found could be.Mine tells me penny, nickle, dime, silver, gold. Also look mfor one for the depth you want to scan ,mine shoots about 6 to 8 inches deep.Go online to metal detectors compared, and there is all you need to know.I am by no means an expert on this, but it is a great way to enjoy the great outdoors.
