Instead of boiling your corned beef try this. Place your rinsed corned beef in a deep baking dish,add your red potatoes,onions,carrots,cover air tight with foil,place in a 250 degree oven,let cook for 4 hours(based on a 3-4 lb piece).When done,let rest for 5 minutes,then slice thin against the grain of the meat.Boil up your cabbage and it is wonderful.Your spuds and carrots assume some of the corned beef flavor.Try it. 8-)

People boil it? Ewww... The only thing that should be boiled is Eggs, Crawdads, Corn and pasta. Boiling any form of meat I dont get unless its a stew of some form 8-)

I'll have to give this recipe a try. We usually do the crock-pot thing which works well but the foil would be less cleanup.
